October’s meeting was a lively evening with fellow WI member Becky Wash from the Brentwood Belles, who came to give a talk about her book upcycling and papercraft business Retro From Scratch. We had a fun evening learning about how Becky started her business and all the things you can do with old books to give them new life. We also had a paper gift bow workshop, reusing old book paper. There was some retail therapy too as Becky had a wonderful selection of her notebooks for sale!
It was a busy evening with lots of fun and laughter, we welcomed some first-time visitors, and a few became members. We collected over 50 chocolate advent calendars which we have donated to our local food bank and women’s refuge. Thank you to everyone for their generosity.
