Our January meeting was full of Art Deco delights as we had the very knowledgeable Simon Poynton from The Age of Decodence give us a talk on Art Nouveau and Art Deco pottery and design. Simon spoke about the differences and similarities of these two wonderful eras of art and design and how various potters and painters created their wares.
We learned about artists including Charlotte & Frederick Rhead, Clarice Cliff and also about the wonder of cameo glass. We had a fun evening with lots of visitors visiting us for their first WI experience and a game of our infamous ‘handbag bingo’.
